ADVERTISING

ONLINE ADVERTISEMENTS
Online advertisements are announcements that promote something such as a product, service, event, or information. Advertisements are also referred to as ads and require payment.

PAID ADVERTISING
Paid advertising refers to paying a person or a business to promote something. The amount paid can be agreed to and may or may not provide an analytical report showing how many people viewed or engaged with the advertisement. Paid advertising is often also used to refer to PPC pay-per-click advertising.

PPC PAY-PER-CLICK ADVERTISING
Pay-per-click advertising refers to paying a business such as Google to promote something on their platform. This type of advertising often allows for a budget to set and to be spent. The budget is depleted by the number of clicks and the cost of a click. The budget can be spread out for a determined period of time which is often monthly cycles, however, budgets can also be set to be used for longer periods of time.

CPC COST PER CLICK
Cost per click refers to the financial cost for every click that viewers of an advertisement perform. Cost per click can vary depending on the platform being used to advertise, the geographic location the advertisements will target, the type of devices the advertisements will target, the number of competitors also paying for advertisements, and the amount of competitive bidding on the same keywords or phrases. CPC is also impacted by the relevancy score that is calculated by the platform which measures the relevancy of the advertisement to the content within the website landing pages that advertisement engagers will visit.

ROI RETURN OF INVESTMENT
Return of investment refers to how much profit is made from an advertisement compared to how much is spent.

IMPRESSIONS
An impression is a metric utilized to quantify the number of digital views and engagements that an advertisement performs.

BOUNCED TRAFFIC
Bounced traffic refers to people who visit some type of website, page, or application and decide to leave without taking the desired action due to various reasons. The desired action can be anything from reading content, subscribing, sending a message, or purchasing.

RETARGETING
Retargeting is a form of advertising that targets bounced traffic that leaves without performing desired actions on a website such as purchasing. In the retargeting process, the bounced traffic are shown advertisements of specific products or services they may have shown an interest in.

CTR CLICK-THROUGH RATE
Click-through rate is the ratio of users that click on a specific link to the number of total users who view an advertisement, web page, email, or post. It is often used as a way to measure the success of an advertisement campaign.

  • SEM search engine marketing – paid ads that are shown on search engines when users type and search for specific keywords and phrases.
  • Native advertising – paid ads that try to match the visual look and functions of the website or application they appear on.
  • Social media advertising – paid ads that are shown on social networks.
  • Retargeting advertising – paid ads that are shown to bounced traffic
  • Email advertising – email campaigns that promote a product or service

DIGITAL ADVERTISING CHANNELS WE USE
PixelComb commonly advertises and markets on Google, YouTube, Microsoft, Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Spotify, and Pinterest. These channels are websites and platforms that also allow advertisements to be shown on other channels that are part of their network. In some situations, we may use uncommon channels for a specific industry.

HOW WE DECIDE WHAT CHANNELS TO USE
PixelComb performs research for customers which includes their industry and competition. We use this information to create strategies and even expectations. The channels PixelComb chooses will be recommended to customers and will also be communicated

RESULTS VARY PER CHANNEL
Results vary per channel because each channel has a unique purpose. In example, Google is a search engine and Facebook is a social media. People who search for a product on Google and interact with an advertisement are more likely to convert into a buyer because they were looking for the product or service. Whereas on Facebook, they may not have even been aware of the product. For these reasons, PixelComb takes into consideration the subject that it will advertise, the content that is available about the subject, and also how a channel can contribute to goals.

Results don’t always equal conversions. Sometimes goals can simply be raising awareness and helping a brand establish its presence. PixelComb creates strategies that often require the use of various channels to accomplish different goals.

WHAT IMPACTS ROI
PixelComb encourages clients to acknowledge and work on the following elements that impact sales and ROI from advertising.
– Providing unique and memorable customer experiences
– Ensuring products and services are unique and desirable
– Providing competitive pricing if there are similar products or services by competitors
– Providing excellent content on website and extensions such as medias
– Providing excellent sales closing processes
– Providing excellent customer service and support
– Ensuring websites provide excellent performance and are engaging
– Maintaining excellent public relations
– Maintaining excellent ratings, reviews, and testimonials
– Having good business practices and strategies

COST OF ADVERTISING
Advertising costs are manageable by creating budgets and strategies, however, the costs of acquiring conversions can vary and be dependent on the following:

  • How content in a website landing page matches the content of what is being advertised, also known as relevancy score.
  • Cost of the bid to place and hold a higher rank in search engines, and or how often the ad will show. This also functions in other channels.
  • Cost-per-click
  • Bounce traffic rates and reasons
  • Amount of advertising competitors

An important influence in the cost of advertising is how competitive the customer wishes to be against their competition. Higher budgets can help the customer be seen more than its competition.

BUDGETS FOR ADVERTISING
PixelComb provides customers with suggested budgets for advertising. It is common for budgets to increase over time as the results from advertising produce profit. Customers have overall control of budgets as they give the approval to PixelComb to use the budget.

PAYING THE ADVERTISING CHANNELS
PixelComb will provide clients with an authorization form that collects clients’ credit card and billing information. The credit card and billing information is used to create accounts with the channels and to pay the channels.

WHAT HAPPENS IF CLIENTS DON’T PAY THE ADVERTISING CHANNELS
If a client does not pay an advertising channel, that channel can take legal actions against the client. It is important that clients read policies and terms and conditions of advertising channels, as well as maintain their credit cards balance in good standing so that advertising channels can charge without problems. PixelComb can discontinue to work with clients who do not pay their dues.

CREATING ACCOUNTS WITH ADVERTISING CHANNELS
The process to create advertising channels requires having an email address that can be used to open emails advertising channels may send for security purposes. For this reason, PixelComb asks clients for consent to create an email address on behalf of its client. Clients can also provide PixelComb with an email address and credentials to use the email address.

Clients can choose to create accounts with advertising channels themselves so long as they provide PixelComb with credentials to access the advertising channels.

POLICY AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADVERTISING CHANNELS
PixelComb will communicate with clients what advertising channels it plans to use. PixelComb will provide 48 hours for clients to read policies and terms and conditions of each channel. It is the client’s responsibility to read policies, terms and conditions of the channels PixelComb will advertise on. If a client does not wish to use a certain channel, it must communicate that with PixelComb during the 48 hours. If a client communicates their agreement on the channels that will be used before the 48 hours are complete, PixelComb can create the accounts and use them before the 48 hours are complete.

HACKING, MALWARE, AND ATTACKS
Advertising draws a lot of attention to websites and the tools used to perform advertising such as platforms. PixelComb recommends that customers take the necessary steps to secure their websites, platforms, and data to prevent damage, interruptions, as well as prevent conversions from being affected.

There is no way to guarantee that an attack will not occur, whether advertising or not.

  • PixelComb, its affiliates, and partners will not be responsible for damages that occur to servers, websites, platforms, and data.

It is the client’s responsibility to request information about these advanced cybersecurity services.

WEBSITE PERFORMANCE
PixelComb recommends that client websites perform at their best in order to reduce bounced traffic and increase conversions. Performance includes speed, security, and functionality. Websites should be monitored especially while advertisements are being performed. PixelComb also encourages professional design, development, and user experience in a website. PixelComb may make recommendations to clients about their websites if it finds areas that need improvement. PixelComb may also perform tests for the website and provide reports as evidence. PixelComb recommends that clients take into consideration these reports and do something about the issues as it can help the ROI of advertising.

PixelComb recommends customers to update their credit card information as necessary.

PixelComb will provide a refund if a client pays for a service but we refuse to begin providing the service due to reasons that would be explained. Overall, all sales are final and PixelComb does not provide refunds, especially when labor has already been performed, whether finished or not.

Servers
Servers are computing hardware and software that provide functionality for other programs or devices, commonly referred to as “clients”. A client can be a website that is being hosted on a server. Website servers are tasked with being operational at all times with exception to disruption during maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting. Servers are physical electronic devices similar to computers. Servers for websites are often provided by computing companies through an internet access or are provided by agencies like PixelComb, however, customers can also purchase and maintain web servers on sight.

DETAILS

Customer websites not made by PixelComb
PixelComb can deny or agree to maintain and update websites and servers of customers who did not have the website or server setup by PixelComb.

When PixelComb agrees to inspect, maintain, and update a website and its server, PixelComb will conduct an inspection that ensures it can effectively perform maintenance and updates.

PixelComb will communicate the result of inspection to its customer. If everything is in good standing, PixelComb will commit to providing the service. If there are errors or malware that need to be addressed, they will be communicated.

PixelComb will reserve the right to refuse to provide service if errors or other problems such as malware are not correctable or not financially favorable due to risk or the amount of work that would be needed. It is often financially, technically, and creatively better to create a new website and or use a different server.

Why PixelComb may refuse to provide or discontinue a service
Every website platform or custom made website has designated programming languages, procedures, and capabilities. Sometimes the infrastructure, code, set up, and the use of the website is not proper or favorable.

A website may visually appear to be fine and be operational, however, it may be technically troubled and vulnerable due to many factors including the development process, poor maintenance, improper operations, and improper use. In this situation, security, performance, speed, and reliability are impacted.

PixelComb may refuse to provide service or discontinue service of a website or server that has not been developed, designed, set up, or maintained properly.

Reasons PixelComb may refuse to provide service include:

  • It may take longer to perform something than it would normally. PixelComb may have to fix or do continuous troubleshooting that takes longer than re-development or re-design.
  • PixelComb’s way of coding may create conflict with the original method used. PixelComb is a professional agency with professional standards.
  • If something goes wrong with the website, the customer may think and blame PixelComb as the cause.
  • The website could be corrupted and it would make more sense to re-develop.
  • The website could corrupt a server operated by PixelComb.
  • The website violates laws.

Differences between open source, closed source, and hybrid platforms
Open source platforms allow programmers/developers to have control of all files including core files.  Open source platforms require its users to bare all responsibilities in operations and become owners of their website. The company that develops the platform may not provide any technical support. Working with open-source platforms require the most amount of user, designer, and developer experience and skill.

Closed source platforms do not allow programmers/developers to have access and control of all files. Files are restricted to the platform users and are only controlled by the company who developed the closed source platform. Closed source platforms require the least amount of knowledge and skill from users, designers, and developers. In theory, developers are not needed for closed source platforms. Clients of closed source platforms can never own their website as their website is owned and maintained by the platform company.

Hybrid platforms allow limited access to files and completely restrict access to core files. These platforms require some experience and skill from users, designers, and developers. Clients of hybrid platforms can never own their website as the website platform is owned and maintained by the platform company.

Every platform is different and has a purpose. Each type affects time and costs to design, develop, maintain, update content, set functionalities, perform operations, manage data, payment processes, search engine optimization, marketing, safety, integrations, and more. Also, the differences require a different set of skills from developers, programmers, designers, IT, and more.

Web servers and hosting
Web servers are devices that have hardware and software that are architectured to host websites, databases, and applications.

Servers sometimes are required to restart and undergo maintenance, backups, and software updates that can disrupt the operation of a website.

PixelComb inspects servers to ensure the server space dedicated to a customer’s website can handle the website software and applications.

Sometimes a website technical operational requirements increase due to the number of website visitors, the applications developed on the website, and the functions the website is set to perform. In this case, a website may need to be moved to a different server host space that can support the technical requirements. In this case, PixelComb will communicate with the customer and request approval to pay for a server host migration and an upgraded web server of a hosting plan.

Shared hosting
Shared hosting services use web servers designed to host multiple clients and websites, as well as sometimes different types of websites, platforms, and software.

Shared hosting is the most common type of hosting service and is also the least expensive hosting service. The hosting company will maintain and update the server to a certain extent that may make it easy for clients, however, this maintenance is often not performed specifically for the customer’s website, but rather for the majority of websites hosted within the shared server.

Disadvantages of shared hosting environments include the possibility of being infected by malware attacks when another website inside the shared server is attacked. The speed of the website may also be affected as well as space and concurrent user abilities.

PixelComb can maintain shared hosting setups and even offer it to customers. However, PixelComb will reserve the right to refuse to provide one of its servers to a corrupted website or refuse to service a server that may be compromised.

Dedicated hosting
Dedicated hosting is a service in which a web server is only used by one client. The client can choose to have one website or more hosted in the dedicated server. This hosting environment is significantly more expensive because the client will need to have an employee or contract an IT professional to fully manage and update the dedicated server.

Dedicated servers can greatly increase security, website speed, and other technical operations. Dedicated servers can also contribute to the performance of eCommerce operations.

Cloud hosting
Cloud hosting is another service that is more advanced and can have automatic scalability based on the usage of the websites being hosted. Cloud hosting is often utilized by companies that have IT professionals or have hired a professional company like PixelComb. This hosting environment is recommended for advanced website platforms and for websites that will have a large number of website visitors and functions.

Deciding on hosting services
PixelComb may suggest hosting options to clients. We utilize servers from companies such as WP Engine, Amazon AWS, GoDaddy, Nexcess, Google Cloud, and PixelComb’s servers.

Creation of web hosting accounts
PixelComb often creates hosting environments in servers provided by web hosting companies, depending on the service the customer pays for. PixelComb does not always choose the same hosting companies. Determinations on which hosting company is to be used consider the technical requirements of the website project which includes the type of platform, expected amount of visitors, and functionalities.

PixelComb customers are provided a form after paying for their service that asks for authorization to create accounts on the clients behalf. This includes creating a web hosting account with a web hosting company.

The choice of a hosting company will be communicated to PixelComb customers and it is the responsibility of customers to read and agree to the policies and terms and conditions of the hosting company, as well as pay the selected hosting company.

Customers may provide their own hosting company of choice if PixelComb agrees that the host service selected meets the technical requirements of the project.

Customers who wish to access a server/host must do so by login to the company that provides the hosting service.

Extracting or moving websites and data in servers (migrating)
Data within hosts/servers can be extracted and moved into another server if the client chooses to change their hosting service. The fee for data extraction starts at $150 and goes up depending on the operation. The fee for migrating data into another server starts at $250 and goes up depending on the operation. Our Information Technology hourly rates start at $150 per hour.

Safety in web hosting
Malware, phishing, spamming, and hacking can happen to a client whether their website is on a shared, dedicated, or cloud hosting plan. This is because hackers are always finding new technologies and techniques to hack or corrupt hosting servers and websites.

PixelComb takes precautions to protect the hosting servers of its clients. However, there is no guarantee that a website or any content inside a server will not be compromised.

PixelComb, its partners, and affiliates are not liable for hosting servers that become compromised.

In the case that a website or server is affected by an attack, PixelComb will attempt to take necessary actions to identify the attack, block future attacks from the attacker if the attacker is identified, and attempt to restore the website and or host.

In some cases, PixelComb may recommend security actions and or additional security services.

PixelComb charges a fee to perform the work of identifying attacks on an affected website and or server that does not belong to PixelComb. PixelComb will attempt to restore, and prevent future attacks from the same attacker.

In some rare cases, PixelComb may not be able to restore the data of a website or server. In this situation, the data could become lost. This data can include customer information, products, applications, content, and more.

PixelComb is not responsible for data of websites and servers that become lost due to attacks, hacking, improper use, maintenance, and operations.

Hacking, malware, and attacks
In some cases, a hacker or malware may infiltrate a website and server. In this case, the information on the website and server could become corrupted or could be extracted by the attacker.

There is no way to guarantee with any website or host server that an attack will not occur.

  • PixelComb, its affiliates, and partners will not be responsible for damages that occur to the server, website, and data.
  • PixelComb, its affiliates, and partners will not be responsible for damages that occur to its client’s personnel, connections, network, brand, payment information, gateways, banks, operations, devices, data, and other properties.
  • PixelComb, its affiliates, and partners will not be responsible for damages that occur to the website users’ which include their information, payment information, data, operations, devices, and other properties.

PixelComb and its subsidiaries can provide advanced cybersecurity solutions for additional costs, such as content delivery networks, firewalls, and an array of security operations such as geolocation and IP blocking.

It is the client’s responsibility to request information about these advanced cybersecurity services.

Website performance
PixelComb wants websites to perform at their best. Performance includes speed, ease of use, and good standing functionalities.

Often, clients confuse website performance with the ability for a website to provide more customers, leads, calls, messages, inquiries, sales, and more. Clients must understand that creating a website does not necessarily mean they will acquire business from it. A website requires marketing practices such as search engine optimization and even paid advertising for it to be an active marketing and production channel.

Website performance can be affected by many things such as not maintaining the website, not maintaining the server, excess amount of data in the website, excess file sizes of pictures, host concurrent user limitations, malware, phishing, and other cybersecurity issues.

PixelComb provides maintenance and update plans for websites that may be included in its plans or for an additional fee.

PixelComb is not responsible for the poor performance of websites that are not maintained, updated, or managed by PixelComb. PixelComb and its subsidiaries may suggest additional services to increase performance.

Domain names
PixelComb allows customers to search, pick, and pay to register for domain names through its integration with a reseller account with GoDaddy. Customers who need to access their domain name may do so by calling 480-624-2500 or by login to the portal through the following link:

https://sso.secureserver.net/?plid=540168&prog_id=540168&realm=idp&path=%2Fproducts&app=account

Customers can also provide PixelComb with their login credentials to their registered domain company of choice.

PixelComb is not responsible for domain names that are canceled due to non-payment by the customer, sold, or transferred to another domain company.

Website design, user interface, and user experience
The design and development of a website, user interface, and user experience are limited to capabilities rendered by the website platform that is being used, the knowledge and abilities of web designers and developers, and the time provided to the designers and developers.

Pricing for website and online store services
PixelComb creates prices for its website and online store services based on the skill and knowledge of people that will be required to fulfill a specific service. Every website platform has different requirements. PixelComb considers how much it pays its professionals to fulfill the specified service.

Each service is a project and each project requires a different amount of time to fulfill.

Process of website design and development
Time is required to design and develop websites and online stores. The following is what PixelComb performs during the process.

  • Customer information gathering
  • Research and strategizing
  • Conceptualizing design, user interface, and user experience
  • Graphic designing or theme modifications
  • Creating and tuning server/host environment
  • Development of website, applications, and functionalities
  • Setup and security
  • Testing website
  • Launching website

PixelComb will design a website based on what the customer provides information about and what examples they provide. Customers will be provided a graphic design of a website before the website is made. Customers will be required to agree to the design before the website is developed.

Once a website is developed, customers cannot ask PixelComb to change the design, unless the customer is willing to pay for the extra time that will be required to re-design and develop.

PixelComb may be able to make simple changes at no charge after a website is developed, however, these changes will be minimal and should not be expected by the customer.

Graphic design
PixelComb will graphic design certain elements for a website such as banners. The amount of banners is listed in the website service information.

Copywriting
PixelComb asks website customers to provide their text content and formats.

Copywriting services are not included in website packages. PixelComb provides copywriting services for additional costs.

In some cases, PixelComb may write or edit content for the website if it feels it will not be time-consuming. If this is performed for the customer, the customer must not expect this to be done all the time.

PixelComb is not responsible for anything that may occur as a result of text content made by PixelComb or made by the customer.

Website content
PixelComb asks website customers to provide their website content which includes photos, videos, files, and text.

Some packages may include a set amount of stock pictures. Any additional stock photos needed will be communicated to the customer so the customer can pay for them.

PixelComb is not responsible for anything that may occur as a result of the content added to the website.

Website content updating
PixelComb offers website content updating which allows the customer to simply provide us with content and information they want to add or change on their website. We recommend this service to customers who do not have the technical knowledge to perform changes on their own.

We provide packages for content updating services which provide a limit in labor hours per month. For example, we may ask clients to pay $100 for 3 hours of website updates per month.

Prices for updates vary depending on the website platform and its setup. This is because every website has a different process for performing updates that may take longer or less time than another.

Contact PixelComb to learn about marketing packages that can provide content such as graphic design for seasonal banners, sales, and more.

The publication that PixelComb designed, developed and or maintains a client website
PixelComb takes great pride in the work performed to design, develop, and maintain websites, portals, applications, and more.

PixelComb may add text to the footer of a website that may communicate something such as “Designed and developed by PixelComb”, “Powered by PixelComb”, or “Developed by PixelComb”.

PixelComb and its subsidiaries may create links to websites and digital or printed material that showcase the website design and development performed for clients. These materials may be used for promotional purposes on websites, catalogs, and even advertisements.

A customer can request “white labeling” which means that we would not communicate anything on the website that shows it was made, designed, or maintained by PixelComb.

Legal responsibilities and compliance
PixelComb and its subsidiaries are not responsible for how a client operates their website. We will not be held responsible for any violations and or criminal activity. We are not responsible for compliance with GDPR, Taxes, ADA, WCAG, HIPAA, PCI compliance, shipping, and any other rules that a company may need to comply with. PixelComb and its subsidiaries do not share any responsibilities with clients.

It is the client’s responsibility to provide information, instructions, specifications, and make requests with PixelComb and or its subsidiaries to create a website that would meet their legal obligations.

Website client use training
Open source and closed source combination website platforms provide many do-it-yourself videos. PixelComb can provide clients with links to find these videos or training.

Open source website platforms provide generic manuals because the platform/software will be customized for individual use. This means that open source platforms do not all have the same manuals and or the manuals may not work if the platform has been customized.

PixelComb will only create basic manuals related to operating a website such as how to change the price of an item, how to change pictures in specific sections, and how to change the text in specific sections. PixelComb will not create manuals on tasks related to the design and development of a website.

At the request of a client, PixelComb can be hired for an hourly rate, to teach the client or its employees how to use the basic functions of a website.

PixelComb is not responsible for errors created by clients. If an error is made, PixelComb can be contacted to fix the error or accomplish what the client wishes, for a fee.

PixelComb wants its clients to be able to operate their websites, however, it’s understandable that clients sometimes don’t have time or the technical skills to do so. PixelComb will offer a plan to operate a client’s website if the client feels they do not have sufficient skills.
