Shortcuts On Phones And Tablets Save You Time!
Would you like to add a shortcut to a website or web page to your phone or tablet? With one click / tap you will be able to open the website. This is excellent for website that you normally visit or pages that contain content you always need to use. Content could be forms or even a customer portal.
Follow the steps below. They are easy and you will be able to create a shortcut in less than 5 minutes.
iPhones and iPads
STEP 1
OPEN SAFARI
Open the Safari web browser. It must be Safari. You cannot do this on other browsers like Chrome as it won’t work on iPhones and iPads.
STEP 2
GO TO THE WEBSITE / PAGE
Go to the website you want to create a shortcut to. If you want to be specific, go to the page of the website you want to create the shortcut to.
STEP 3
TAP THE SHARE ICON
Look at the bottom of the screen and you will see an icon that represents the Share button. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing to the top. Tap that button.
STEP 4
TAP ADD TO HOME SCREEN
In the list of options that appear, scroll down until you see “Add to Home Screen”. Tap this option. The Add to Home Screen dialog box will now be shown.
STEP 5
NAME THE SHORTCUT
Choose a name for the website or website page that you will create a shortcut to. This name will be displayed under the shortcut, like the apps on the phone or tablet. .
STEP 6
TAP SAVE
Tap the save button on the screen and the shortcut will now be added to your phone. It will look like like other apps on your phone or tablet. When you click it, it will take you directly to the website or web page you want.
Android
STEP 1
OPEN CHROME
Open the Chrome web browser on your phone or tablet.
STEP 2
GO TO THE WEBSITE PAGE
Go to the website you want to pin to your devices home screen. If you want to be specific, go to the specific page you want in that website.
STEP 3
TAP THE MENU ICON
Look for a menu icon that has 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner, then tap “Add to home screen”.
STEP 4
NAME THE SHORTCUT
Choose a name for the website or website page shortcut, then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
